01 — ABOUT

Sound is never just sound.

I'm Juan Pablo Ortega, an audio post-production professional based remotely and working worldwide. I specialize in sound design for narrative film and streaming series, with recent work including the 2025 feature film The Grove and six episodes of streaming series Me Late Que Sí.

02 — INTRODUCTION

Hello.

My approach to audio post-production blends technical precision with creative intuition. I believe every frequency should serve the story—that sound is never decoration, but a layer of meaning that guides the audience deeper into the narrative.

I trained at SAE Institute Mexico and Vancouver Film School, where I built the foundation in narrative audio work that I still rely on today: dialogue editing, sound design, foley, mixing, and the discipline of serving a director's vision rather than imposing my own.

Today I work across feature film, streaming series, narrative shorts, long-form podcasts, and indie game audio. I'm fully bilingual (English and Spanish), which lets me work seamlessly with productions across the Americas and beyond.

05 — HOW I WORK

How I work.

I work remotely from a treated studio with industry-standard tools, integrating cleanly into existing post-production pipelines. I'm comfortable jumping into established workflows—whether you're a director on your first feature or a producer running a multi-episode series, I adapt to your structure rather than forcing you into mine.

Most of my projects come from referrals: directors and producers who came back for the next one. That's the relationship I aim to build with every client.
